Skandmata is worshiped on the fifth day of Navratri. Skandmata is the one who gives happiness and peace to the devotees. Due to being the mother of Lord Skanda, the commander of Devasura Sangram, the fifth form of Goddess Durga is known as Skandmata. Skandmata teaches us that life itself is a battle between good and evil and that we ourselves are our commanders. Let us continue to get the power of military operation. Therefore Skandmata should be worshipped. On this day the mind of the seeker should be situated in the pure chakra, so that the meditative attitude can be concentrated.
