Kartik Shukla Panchami is called Labh Panchami. It is also called ‘Saubhagya Panchami’. Jains call it ‘Gyan Panchami’. This is occurred just after the Deepawali is celebrated. Merchants do their business Muhurta etc. only on Labh Panchami. Whatever business is started on the day of Labh Panchami, there is a lot of luck in it. All this is fine, but by deciding to follow the guidance of saints and great men, the day to eliminate the effects of these five vices, lust, anger, greed, attachment, ego, under the influence of devotion to God, is Labh Panchami.

Remember the five nectar of words of Labh Panchami:
First thing: ‘God is ours, we belong to God’ – By believing this, love will arise in God. ‘Body, house, relatives were not there before birth and will not remain after death but God is always with me – by thinking like this you will get the benefit of drinking nectar by Aachman before Labhpanchami.

Third thing: Whatever food you eat, do it by offering prayers to God mentally. With this your stomach will be filled, your heart will also be filled with God.

Fourth thing: Parents, poor, neighbor, whomever you serve, then ‘this poor person… I serve him. Do service as God and don’t consider yourself to be the doer.

Fifth thing: Keep expanding your body and mind and your intellect. From home, from the locality, from the village, from the state, beyond the nation, keep spreading your thoughts in the world and ‘May all be well, may all be well, may all be blessed with happiness and peace, Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah…’ in this way. Make your heart bigger by feeling it.
