Message of Spring
The focus of food and drink is special – the message of the spring season
Spring season starts from Friday, February 18, 2022.
Rituraj spring is the juncture of cold and heat. In this, the accumulated phlegm of the winter season starts melting due to the scorched rays of the sun, due to which the gastritis slows down and many diseases like cold-cough, vomiting-diarrhoea etc. Therefore, special care should be taken about diet during this time.
Diet: In this season, do not consume late-digesting, cold foods, sleeping during the day, aliphatic ie, made in ghee-oil and acid and juicy substances because all these are phlegm enhancers. (Ashtangaheart 3.26)
Consumption of sweets, dry fruits, sour-sweet fruits, curd, ice cream and heavy food is prohibited in spring. In these days quickly digestible, made in little oil and ghee, pungent, bitter, astringent, hot substances like- lye, puffed rice, barley, roasted gram, old wheat, gram, moong, ginger, dry ginger, carom seeds, turmeric, peeparamool, Take black pepper, asafoetida, suran, drumstick pods, bitter gourd, fenugreek, fresh radish, sesame oil, honey, cow urine etc. Don’t eat a full meal. Less use of salt and a strict fast in 15 days is beneficial for health. Stuffing fruit food in the stomach in the name of fasting is not wise.
Vihara: Getting up before sunrise, exercise, running, brisk walking, asanas and pranayama (especially Surya Bhedi) are beneficial to remove the heaviness and laziness in the body due to the change of seasons. Massage with sesame oil and bathing with saptadhan udder is the key to health. Special uses of spring season.
The benefits of ‘Rasayana’ are obtained by taking 2 to 3 grams of harad powder mixed in an empty stomach in the morning.
Chewing 15 to 20 neem leaves and 2-3 black peppers for 15-20 days protects against skin diseases, fever, blood disorders, etc. throughout the year.
Taking small pieces of ginger and adding lemon juice and some salt to it, it cures melancholy.
Chew 5 grams soaked fenugreek at night and drink water in the morning, it ends stomach gas.
Grind the peel of reetha with water and drip it in the nose, it ends migraine (headache).
Taking 15 grams of jaggery mixed with 10 grams of Cow Ghee provides relief in dry cough.
Mix 10 grams honey, 2 grams dry ginger and 1 gram black pepper powder and lick it twice a day, it ends sputum cough.
