🌷 Vedic Raksha Sutra (Rakshabandhan) 🌷
🙏🏻 Vedic Rakshabandhan – Rakshabandhan festival is celebrated every year on Shravani-Purnima, this time Rakshabandhan is on 30 August 2023, Wednesday.

Full moon date time: 30 August 2023 Wednesday from 10:58 am to 31 August, Thursday 07:05 am.
The time of Bhadrakal this time is from 10:58 am to 9:01 pm on August 30, 2023 (Wednesday).

On the day of Raksha Bandhan, sisters tie Raksha-sutra to their brothers. If this Raksha Sutra is made according to the Vedic tradition, then it has great importance in the scriptures.

🌷 Method of making Vedic Raksha Sutra 🌷
🙏🏻 5 things are required for this –
(1) Durva (grass) (2) Akshat (rice) (3) Saffron (4) Sandalwood (5) Mustard seeds.

🙏🏻 Take these 5 things in a silk cloth and tie or stitch it, then thread it in Kalava, in this way Vedic Rakhi will be ready.

🌷 Importance of these Five things 🌷
(1) Durva – Just as a sprout of Durva spreads rapidly when sown and grows into thousands, so may my brother’s progeny and virtues develop rapidly in him. Virtue, purity of mind should increase rapidly. Durva is dear to Ganesh ji, that means the obstacles in the life of the one we are tying Rakhi should be destroyed.
(2) Akshat – Our devotion towards Gurudev should never get damaged or destroyed and should always remain intact.
(3) Saffron – The nature of saffron is fast, that means the one we are tying rakhi should be bright. May the intensity of spirituality and devotion never decrease in his life.
(4) Sandalwood – The nature of sandalwood is cool and it gives fragrance. In the same way, coolness should remain in his life, there should never be any mental tension. Along with this, the fragrance of charity, virtue and self-control should spread in his life.
(5) Mustard Seeds – The nature of mustard is pungent, which means it indicates that we should be pungent in eliminating the bad qualities and thorns of the society.

🙏🏻 In this way, first of all offer a rakhi made of these five things on the Shri-Chitra of Gurudev. Then sisters tie their brothers, mothers tie their children, grandmothers tie their grandchildren with good wishes.

🙏🏻 In Mahabharata, mother Kunti had tied this defense formula to her grandson Abhimanyu. As long as this thread was in Abhimanyu’s hand, he was protected, Abhimanyu died when the thread broke.

🙏🏻 In this way, by tying the Vedic Rakhi made of these five things according to the scriptures, we remain happy throughout the year along with our sons, grandsons and brothers.

येन बद्धो बलि राजा, दानवेन्द्रो महाबलः ।
तेन त्वाम रक्ष बध्नामि, रक्षे माचल माचल: ।
