Good Luck with Cow Worship
Gopashtami festival is on Tuesday, 01 November 2022.
Kartik Shukla Ashtami is called ‘Gopashtami’. This is a special festival of cow worship. On this day, cows are bathed in the morning and worshiped with scent and flowers. On this day, by giving cow grass, circumambulate them and if you go with them for a short distance, then all kinds of desired accomplishments are achieved. In the evening when the cows come back after grazing, at that time also after their hospitality, greetings and Panchopchar-worship, feed them green grass, food etc. and apply their feet on the forehead. This increases the luck.
Sant Shri Jalaram Bapa Jayanti
Sant Shri Jalaram Bapa Jayanti is on Monday, 31 October 2022.
🙏🏻 Jalaram Bapa was born in the year 1799 in Virpur village of Rajkot district of Gujarat. His father’s name was Pradhan Thakkar and mother’s name was Rajbai. Bapa’s mother was a religious woman, who used to do a lot of service to the sages and saints. Pleased with his service, Saint Raghuvir Das Ji blessed him that his second son Jalaram would become an example of God and sage-devotion and service.
At the age of 16, Shri Jalaram was married to Veerbai. But he wanted to get away from marital bondage and engage in service work. When Shri Jalaram decided to go on pilgrimages, his wife Veerbai also showed determination to follow Bapa’s work. At the age of 18, Jalaram Bapa accepted Saint Shri Bhojal Ram of Fatehpur as his Guru. The Guru took Gurumala and Shri Ram’s mantra and asked them to proceed in the service work, then Jalaram Bapa built a food hall named ‘Sadavrat’ where 24 hours food was served to the saints and needy people. No one could go from this place without having food. He and Veerbai mother used to work hard day and night.
By the age of twenty, the fame of simplicity and love of God spread all around. People in different ways tested his patience or patience, love and devotion to the Lord. to which they met. Due to this, great respect was generated in the minds of the people for Sant Jalaram Bapa. People saw many miracles in his life with his blessings. Chief among which was seen to be cured of children’s illness and to serve the people by getting the ability of the poor.
All Hindus and Muslims would get food and blessings from the Father. Once three Arab soldiers had food at Veerpur at the request of Bapa, after the meal the soldiers felt embarrassed because they had kept dead birds in their bags. When he opened the bag at the behest of Bapa, the birds fluttered away, not only that, Bapa blessed him and fulfilled his wish. Regarding service activities, Father would say that it is the will of the Lord. This is the work of the Lord. Lord has entrusted this task to me, that is why Lord sees that every arrangement is done properly. In the year 1934, at the time of severe famine, Veerbai’s mother and father served the people by feeding people for 24 hours. In the year 1935, the mother and in the year 1937, the father gave up his mortal body while praying.
Even today, by praying with devotion to Jalaram Bapa, all the wishes of the people are fulfilled. His experience is published in a magazine named ‘Pacharcha’ called Jalaram Jyoti. Devotees worship Bapa by fasting or donating food on Thursdays.
